Since Fall 2017, I have taught mathematics courses as a contract faculty member at San Diego Mesa College, a community college in San Diego, California. Prior to that, I taught as an adjunct faculty member at San Diego Mesa College, San Diego Miramar College, Grossmont College, and Cuyamaca College as well as as a graduate teaching assistant at San Diego State University. You can learn about my teaching philosophy and current explorations in course design by looking through my most recent syllabi: Calculus I with Analytical Geometry and Elementary Statistics.
My goal when designing courses is to create spaces for students to showcase their brilliance. My on-site courses incorporate retrieval practice and active learning (including the building thinking classrooms approach) while minimizing lecture. Below are some of current influences.
